The increasing reliance on digital learning platforms in higher education has transformed how doctoral students engage with academic content, supervisors, and peers. While such platforms offer flexibility and access to resources, their impact on mental health and academic performance remains underexplored. This study integrates perspectives from education technology, psychology, and cognitive science to investigate the dual influence of digital tools on learning efficiency and emotional well-being among PhD students. Findings suggest a strong correlation between platform usage patterns and both academic outcomes and reported stress levels, highlighting the need for balanced digital engagement strategies.
